Types and Benefits of Liquid Cooling
Liquid cooling uses fluids to remove heat from electronic equipment. This is much more effective than air. For example, water is more than 20 times better at conducting heat than air.
There are two main types of direct liquid cooling.
Direct-to-Chip (DTC) cooling applies the liquid directly to the parts that heat up the most, such as processors and graphics cards. It offers an excellent balance between performance and ease of servicing.
The other type is Immersion cooling. Here, the servers are completely submerged in a special non-conductive liquid inside a tank. This method delivers the best performance results in cooling.
Both systems bring major advantages. They reduce energy consumption and operating costs. They enable higher rack density, which saves space in the data center.
They also reduce noise levels. In addition, they contribute to greater environmental sustainability and allow the heat generated to be used for other purposes.
