The Galaxy VL is a three-phase UPS from 200 to 500 kVA — expandable up to 1000+ kVA in parallel configurations — with three-level power conversion technology. Its strong point is the eConversion mode: certified by Schneider, it reaches efficiencies of up to 99% without transferring the load to the static bypass.

That 3% to 5% efficiency difference is the variable that moves the TCO. For a 300 kVA data center operating 24/7, one percentage point of wasted efficiency equals, in the Mexican electricity market, several hundred thousand pesos per year.

When each family makes sense

  1. Under 80 kVA: Easy UPS 3L is the entry option. Simple modularity, simplified maintenance.
  2. 80 to 200 kVA: Easy UPS 3-Phase modular. Good balance between upfront cost and efficiency (95-96%).
  3. 200 to 500 kVA: Galaxy VL enters competitive territory. The additional investment pays back in 3-5 years via eConversion.
  4. Over 500 kVA with future expansion: Galaxy VL or higher (VX). The modularity of the VL allows growth without replacing the entire UPS.
  5. 24/7 operations with DAC tariffs: Galaxy VL always wins on TCO. Wasted energy weighs more than the upfront investment.

What neither of the two resolves on its own

The UPS is not the most expensive piece of the data center in the life cycle, but it is the one that most impacts availability. Both families are reliable — Schneider backs them with field service and spare parts in Mexico — but the final decision depends on the site’s growth model. A room that will double in three years benefits from the Galaxy VL; a room stabilized at its load can live happily with Easy UPS throughout its useful life.
